The Dämn Origin Story
My ancestors came to America from Germany to escape some Charlie Chapman mustached individual. They arrived on this wonderful land by stowing away on a pickle boat. At that point in time, we had the surname 'Dämn'. For some reason, when others read Dämn they would not pronounce it quite right. My great-great grandmother, Helen, was very religious. She did not particularly enjoy the way they pronounced Dämn. Refusal of marriage to my great-great grandpa led to a change in surname.
I honestly have no idea how true that story is. I also don't care how true it is, because it is a beautiful story.
I write stories and make odd things. Welcome to what is, apparently, mental illness manifested as a website.
